Obituary

Alexander Cooperof Columbia, Maryland unexpectedly passed away on Monday, September 24th in Boston. He was 34 years old. Alex was truly one-of-a-kind; an eccentric musician, curious world traveler, open-minded friend, and adoring husband and father. His hair was as untamed and beautiful as his personality.

Alex grew up in the quiet suburb of Southborough, MA and graduated with a BA in English from Suffolk University. He was committed to his career in the national trade association sector, but always found time for his long list of hobbies and passions. He loved many aspects of the arts, but his first and strongest love was music. He discovered his talent in grade school with the saxophone, but quickly turned his focus to the drums. A loving family man by day, and a rock star by night, Alex shared himself at the dinner table, during story time, and on stage as the leader of his band. He checked off all the important boxes in life, but did it in his own goofy, quirky and loving way.

Alex leaves behind his wife of 8 years, Joan Cooper, daughters Vivian (5) and Juliet (3), parents Glenn and Peggy, brothers Charlie and Rob, and countless friends he touched and inspired all over the world.

His funeral will be held at Pine Knoll Cemetery in Hanover, NH at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 29th. There will be a reception to follow at his parent's home in Hanover. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been created for Alex's daughters. Checks written out to "Vivian and Juliet Education Fund" can be sent to:

Mascoma Bank c/o Amanda Roberts
