Alfred Homer ("Cookie") Ladeau, Sr.93, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at his home in Quechee, Vermont. He was born on February 6, 1927, in Sheldon Springs, Vermont to William and Ella (Grow) Ladeau.

Cookie was a long-time resident of Norwich, Vermont, where he and his wife of 25 years (married June, 1947), Dorothy Louise (Johnson) of Cornish, New Hampshire, built and created a loving home for their five children.

Al attended the New Boston Road one-room schoolhouse. He was drafted during his Junior year of high school. He proudly served in the Army. To commemorate Alfred's (80th) Birthday, he was presented with an Honorary Hanover High School Diploma, by the presiding high school principal.

Mr. Ladeau retired from Trumbull-Nelson Construction Company, after 45 years of dedicated service. His master carpentry skills were requested throughout the local area. With a happy heart, Alfred had the opportunity to observe the successes of his adult children, with whom he taught the importance of integrity, respect and hard work.

Cookie's passion for hunting, fishing and gardening were taught and shared with his children. Spending time with his Family was second to none. Cookie Ladeau was most certainly a "Good Man".

Mr. Ladeau is survived by his 4 Children; Al, Jr. (Gloria), Phil (Elisa), Vickie (Mike Seaver), Brett (Angie), 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his Special Life-Partner, Lynda Connell-Gordon. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, wife, Dorothy (1973), daughter, Thelma, and his second wife, Bonnie Boyce.

The Family wishes to extend our gratitude and appreciation for Lynda, her devotion and loving care of our Dad will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 11th at 11:00 am at the Christian Street Cemetery, Rt. 5, Wilder, Vermont.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Organization or (Hospice) The VNH Care.
