Antranig "Andy"
Aharon Boghosian
February 23, 2017
Antranig "Andy" Aharon Boghosianpassed away at his home in West Lebanon, NH on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 86.
Andy is survived by his wife Gilberte, his son Aharon, daughter Cheryl, their spouses Kathy and Neil and the loves of his life - his grandchildren - Antranig (Adam), Morgan, Nathan and Rachel.
Andy was born on March 30th, 1930 in Concord, NH. The third of four brothers, Andy spent his childhood hunting and fishing and graduated from Concord High School in 1948. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1955.
Andy's lifetime love of "mechanical tinkering" then led him to The New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, where he was head of the class. While finishing his studies, he met his wife Gilberte and the two married weeks after his graduation in 1953. In 1958, they moved to the Upper Valley, when Andy was hired as an engineer at Split Ball Bearing.
He closed out his 17 yr career as the Senior plant engineer. In 1961 the family moved to Hanover, NH, where Andy and Gilberte founded Gilberte Interiors Inc in 1967. Andy remained a daily presence in the office throughout his life, working alongside his family, which brought him so much pride and joy.
Andy had a lifelong passion for anything outdoors; hiking, hunting, fishing, tennis and golf. He could dependably be found fixing things, or practicing his swing at the golf course. A longtime member of the community, Andy contributed in countless ways, including serving on the Hanover School Building Advisory Committee, as a Boy Scout Pack Leader and playing Joseph in the Christmas Mystery.
Between his daily workouts at the RVC and chipping and putting at the Hanover Country Club he never stopped moving and made friends everywhere he went. Above all, Andy's priority was always his family and nothing brought him more happiness than the time he spent with them.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 2:00 pm at the Hanover Inn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations that may be made to The Prouty 2017, payable to DHH/Prouty and mailed to "The FNCCC Prouty 2017, DHMC Development Office, Attn: Michele T. Clark, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 10756."
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, NH.
