Beatrice T. Officer (Trix)87, died peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Valley Terrace in Wilder, VT.
She was born in East Orange, NJ, on October 31, 1927 to Beatrice and Pierre Allegaert.
She married her husband Chuck in 1951 and they raised 8 children together while living in Falmouth, MA, Wellington, NZ, Houston, TX, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and Hanover, NH. A resident of Hanover since 1968, she was involved with or helped create several Upper Valley charitable organizations such as Good Beginnings, Upper Valley Support Group, Upper Valley Youth Services (Christmas in October), Helping Hands and others. A dedicated and active member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Hanover she was also a Eucharistic Minister and felt very privileged to be able to share the eucharist with other parishioners and residents of many Upper Valley nursing homes.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her incredible generosity and kindness. Everyone was welcome in her home and she liked nothing more than hosting long dinners filled with storytelling and laughter. But of her many achievements, she was proudest of her 8 children and her 64 year marriage to her beloved husband Chuck.
She will be missed by all who knew her and is survived by her husband Chuck Officer, her brother Winthrop Allegaert and his family, her children, Tom and Ashley Officer, Susan Johnson, Caroline and Tom Ewing, John and Cathy Officer, Chuck and Veronique Officer, Peter and Jane Officer, Bob and Karen Officer, David and Angie Officer and their many children and grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
Calling hours will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Rand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hanover, NH. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, Sept. 10 at St. Denis Catholic Church, Hanover, NH. A private burial will follow at Pine Knoll cemetery followed by a reception from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at The Canoe Club, Hanover, NH.
