Beverly Ann (Snelling) Balchpassed away peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015, in her home in Lyme Center. Her quiet grace and steadfast faith, supported by the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her courageous battle with cancer for nearly two years.

Beverly was born on September 27, 1944, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Lawrence and Eugenia Gray. Most of her life she was a resident of Lyme Center, NH, where she married her first husband, Kenneth B. Snelling, and raised their four children. In 1997, she married her long-time friend, Alfred Balch, and they made their home together in Lyme Center, NH.

Beverly enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, cooking for her family and friends, and volunteering in her community and church. Her mind was a wealth of memories and stories, which will be sorely missed by many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Balch; her children, Jeff and Deb Snelling of Lyme, NH; Michael and Annie Snelling of Lee, NH; Ken and Stephanie Snelling of Hanover, NH; Hope and Doug Oathout of Chapel Hill, NC; as well as Alfred's children, whom she loved like her own, Paula and Arend Tensen of Lyme Center, NH; and Penny and Mike Loschiavo of Bradford, VT. Beverly also proudly boasted 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Lawrence Gray, Jr., as well as her first husband, Kenneth.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Lyme Center Baptist Church on April 12, 2015, at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William and Justine Griffith Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Lyme Foundation (P.O. Box, 292, Lyme, NH 03768), where Beverly served as a member of the board in 1995.
