C. Douglas Columb81, of Franklin, Vermont and Mesa, Arizona, passed away Wednesday, August 1st, 2012, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. Son of Irene Columb and Ralph Columb, he was born in St. Albans, Vermont on June 16, 1931.

In addition to his bride of 59 years, Simone Bouchard Columb, he is survived by his children: Susan Smith, Douglas S. Columb and wife Peggy Shove Columb, Donna Owen, Carole Tyne and husband Jeff Tyne; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Doug was the founder of Grasshopper Lawns, Inc. in 1978. After a successful business career, he enjoyed his retirement by travelling the United States in his motor coach with his wife.

The calling hour will be at 12 noon on Saturday, August 4th, 2012, followed by a memorial service at 1 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church on School Street in Franklin, Vermont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He's "on the road again".
