Caroline
Tischbein
April 13, 1965 – April 1, 2026
Caroline Tischbein, 60, went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2026. She fought long and courageously in her battle against her devastating younger-onset Alzheimer's disease. Although far too early to lose her beautiful soul, she is now finally at peace.
Caroline was born on April 13, 1965, in Westwood, New Jersey to Frank and Erna Pawlowski, and raised in Northvale, New Jersey. She earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1987, and subsequently worked for Kearfott Guidance and Navigation Corporation. It was there in 1988 where she met her husband, Mike. They married on September 30, 1989.
After living in New Jersey for five years, Caroline and Mike moved to New Hampshire in 1994 and settled in Etna in 1996. Caroline thrived in Etna, building a wonderful family and truly enjoying peaceful life there.
Caroline was the quintessential people person, who sincerely loved her family and friends. She stayed at home to raise her children, and also became involved in many local activities dear to her heart. She was a substitute teacher at the Ray School in Hanover and spent much time with her children at the Hanover Town Library in Etna. Caroline later became a trustee of the library, and eventually took a part-time job there as a circulation assistant. It never felt like work for her as she thoroughly enjoyed interacting with local children and members of the community. She also led her popular "Crafts with Caroline" program at the library which was enjoyed by many.
A big part of Caroline's life was her faith. She was an active member of The Etna Church, where she was a former Sunday school superintendent and participated on the missions committee. She deepened her faith through the Upper Valley Women's Bible Study and cherished her Moms In Touch prayer group. She also enjoyed being a member of the Etna Ladies Aid Society at The Etna Church. Caroline was never afraid to die, and looked forward to being reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
Caroline will be terribly missed by her husband Mike, and her three children: Carl of Washington, D.C.; Erika Busa and husband, Mitchell, of Leonardtown, Maryland; and Kirsten Naessens and husband, JT, of Danbury, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her brothers John Pawlowski of Park Ridge, New Jersey, and Steven Pawlowski of Emerson, New Jersey.
Caroline's loving memory will be honored at a celebration of her life at The Etna Church, 195 Etna Rd, Etna, NH on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am.
In memory of Caroline, donations to the Alzheimer's Association are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
Please send donations to: Alzheimer's Association, MA/NH Chapter, 15 Constitution Drive Suite 1G, Bedford, NH 03110. Please enter 'Caroline Tischbein' in the memo line.
