Clarence Jacob (CJ) Smith72, of West Lebanon, NH passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2015.

CJ was born in Brackenridge, PA on April 29, 1942 and was the son of Clarence Jacob Smith, Sr. and Dorthy (Marlow) Conway. He attended Temple University where he played football.

He enlisted in the United States Army at age 25 and served in Vietnam. He served for 4 years.

He began his career with Philco and New Jersey Zink. He worked at Millipore Corporation in Billerica, MA for 10 years before moving to Rutland, VT to work for Omya, Inc. for 22 years.

Most recently, CJ enjoyed teaching continuing education courses and serving as Treasurer for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Dartmouth. CJ was caring, dedicated and friendly with an "I can do attitude" and was always the first to volunteer. He was a student at heart and offered classes in subjects he was eager to learn about.

Clarence was a devoted father and an avid sports enthusiast. He loved to travel the country to visit historical Frank Lloyd Wright sites and take in a football, hockey or rugby game. His true passion was announcing hockey games at Castleton State College and Dartmouth College. CJ's laughter, enthusiasm and story telling will be dearly missed.
