Obituary

Donna Stinsonpassed away peacefully at home on July 27th, the day after a great round of golf. It's only fitting that her heart grew too big as her spirit was constantly filled with joy and love. The grand-daughter of the late John Sanford, Donna grew up in the Killington-Rutland area and graduated from Rutland High School.

After RHS, she earned her degree in nursing from Castleton State College and went on to care for countless patients over a 40+ year career as an RN. She then transitioned to running Stinson's Village Store in Hanover, NH with her husband Jack, helping to mold the business into the local treasure that it has become. Donna was known for standing up for those she loved, doing the right thing, and never taking the easy way out. Remarkably honest and caring to the core, she was the person so many of us turned to during hard times.

She survived so many things in life and took so much joy in helping others do the same.

As a lifetime athlete she loved exercising at the gym, golfing, skiing, and cycling. Donna was a masterful cook and the best cribbage player you've ever met. Most importantly, she identified as a faithful wife and loving mother, the two roles she cherished the very most.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Stinson, and son, Ryerson Stinson, daughter in law Jillian Stinson; her beloved sister, Pamela Franklin, and brothers John Rizk and Peter Sabatino, her dearest cousin Jim Sanford, and of course her endless "chosen" family of friends in the community.

To honor Donna, those who knew her well are invited to a celebration of her life on 8/6/23 from 12-4pm at Jesse's Tavern in Hanover, NH. Most importantly, if you can't make it, "don't sweat the small stuff," but please make sure to find the magic in your day and maybe go hit a golf ball in her honor too.
