Douglas R. Lackey82, died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on August 29, 1931 in Fairlee, Vermont to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Bard) Lackey.

Doug attended schools in Orford, New Hampshire. He married Eleanor J. Pruneau in 1951. They built their home and raised a family on River Road in Hanover. Doug worked for many years in the automobile service departments at Hartford Motors and the Car Store in the Upper Valley. He retired in 1993 spending his time working around the house as well as traveling, camping and visiting family.

Doug leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Eleanor; two daughters, Linda L. Tuttle and her husband Dan of Milton, NH, Sandra J. Gallup and her husband, William of Waitsfield, VT; five grandchildren, D.T. Tuttle and his companion Michelle of Rochester, NH, Carrey Stevens and her husband Shane of Farmington, NH, Melissa Tuttle of Milton, NH, Christopher Gallup of San Francisco, CA, Elizabeth Metayer and her husband Jacob of Richmond, VT; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeased by one sister, Jessie M. Gratton; three brothers, Leroy H. Lackey, Lyle C. Lackey, Phillip L. Lackey and two step-brothers, Thomas H. Snow and Bernard D. Snow.

Visiting hours will not be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.at the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home on School Street in Hanover, NH with the Rev. Carla Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to a charity of your choice.
