Edward Charles
Sonk
December 10, 2021
Edward Charles Sonk(1947-2021) was born in Chicago, IL. A member of the Hanover community for over fifty years passed recently in his home of natural causes.
He is survived by his loving children Wendy and Aaron, Wendy's husband Timothy Bronner and son Jacob, and Aaron's wife Elizabeth Sonk.
Founder and owner of Upper Valley House Painting, he managed to create a business from his passion. For over forty years he enjoyed his work within his community. Throughout his career and more so in his later years his public outreach efforts were appreciated by many individuals and organizations.
Community loving, painter, contractor, entrepreneur, teacher, and philanthropist, "Ed" enjoyed life in his own, unique way. He loved the cinema and would look forward to predicting the winners of specific categories of the Oscar's each year with his friend Phil. He loved 'updates' as he called them, about his grandson Jacob, or his children's recent achievements, adventures, or failures throughout their lives.
A simple man that mostly kept to himself, he would always reciprocate a neighbors or passersby wave. Not usually a man of many words unless he felt his point should be heard for the benefit of the betterment of his family and community.
A man led by his convictions for better or worse. Edward Sonk will be missed by his family and the village of Etna and town of Hanover, NH.
There will be no funeral services held.
Respects may be made through a memorial fund held by the First Baptist Church on the corner of Ruddsboro road and Etna Rd.
