Elizabeth "Bettina" Fergusonpassed away Sunday evening, February 9, 2014 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. She was 87.

Bettina was born and raised in Staten Island, NY where she was the third of five children for Dominic and Helen Rich. She graduated from Skidmore College in 1948 and married in 1950 and raised a family of three children first in Cincinnati, Ohio and then in Wilton, CT. In 1982 Bettina moved to Cambridge, MA to study landscape architecture and design. She was drawn to the natural beauty and cultural attractions of the Upper Valley later in the decade and settled in Hanover in 1990 where she has lived for the last 24 years.

Her family would especially like to thank Martha Burton, Bettina's care giver for the last 17 years. In addition, her niece, Lauri Rich of Lyme, served as a constant source of companionship.

She will be sorely missed by her three surviving children, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Bettina will be held on Saturday, February 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, in Waban, MA.
