Esther (Jackson) Henken died peacefully on June 27th, days after her 89th birthday. Esther was born June 22, 1932 in Brookline, MA. The only child of Edith and Harold Jackson.

Esther graduated from Lesley College in 1954 where she earned a Master's Degree in Education. She went on to an illustrious 40-year career in early-childhood education in the Newton, Lynnfield, and North Reading school systems, which brought her immense joy and touched the lives of countless children.

Esther married Earl Henken on March 19th, 1967 and they moved to Lynnfield, MA. They had 2 children, Katherine and Matthew and 5 grandchildren, Jake, Henry, Samuel, Lillian, and Joseph "€" and one million pictures of each.

In 2009, after 42 years of marriage, Earl passed away from colon cancer and Esther moved up to Hanover, NH to be nearer to her family. She will be reunited with Earl in a graveside ceremony at the Upper Valley Jewish Cemetery in Lebanon, NH, where he is laid to rest.
