Evelyn Isabella
Reid (Nee Roseborough)
November 12, 2020
Evelyn Isabella Reid (nee Roseborough) 1924-2020
Passed away peacefully on November 12th at her home in The Woodlands, Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Daughter to Lorne and Enid Roseborough, wife to Robert Arthur Reid 1920-2010, mother to Margaret Stacey (Greg), Robert Reid(Joanna) and Marilyn Ibey, grandmother to Adrienne (Hans), Laurel (Billy), Eleanor (Moose), Anne (Steve), Stephanie (Brendan), Meredith (Jason), Rob (Angela), Leanne (Chris), Bennett Luke (Metra) Elizabeth (Nathan), and proud great grandmother of 24 lively children. Evelyn loved her Montreal family, Joan, Bill and the Reid nieces, and her West Coast family, brothers John and Frank and their clans. For the last ten years Evelyn enjoyed the companionship of the folks at The Woodlands and the recent assistance of Susan Wills and her caring team.
Born in Manitoba and raised in Port Alberni, Evelyn was trained as a pharmacist in British Columbia, until she married Bob and spent the child-raising years in Montreal and Winnipeg; they then found their final home in Lebanon.
Her skills and interests were many: bridge, stunning English smocking, sewing; animals, gardens, prized recipes and beautiful dinners, furniture, hospital volunteer work and indigenous basketry and art. But most of all she adored her family and took so much pride in their accomplishments. Evelyn was loved for her easy laugh, beautiful smile and generosity.
The family will gather next summer to reunite her with Bob in the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal. Arrangements are in the care of Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, New Hampshire.
