Frances Korzeniewski Baschnagelpassed away on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 in Forest Hill, MD. She was 83 Years old.

Born March 21, 1935 to Walter and Loretta Korzeniewski in Dunkirk, NY she graduated from SUNY Brockport and went on to complete a Master's Degree in Teaching at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

On August 1, 1969 she married William Baschnagel and traveled the country with Bill during his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. In 1982 she and Bill returned to Hanover, NH where they enjoyed being close to Dartmouth College, Bill's Alma Mata, and raise their two children, Josh and Siri.

She is survived by her two children Josh and Siri; her daughter-in-law Kristi as well as well as her two grandchildren (Willis and Wesley Baschnagel, of Forest Hill, MD); her sister-in-law Linda Sevar, her niece Erica Nelson Slepak; and her brother-in-law Robert Damkoehler, nieces Cindy Young and Laura Damkoehler, and nephew Daniel Damkoehler.

Frances was a very active and involved citizen of the Upper Valley. She was a trustee at the Howe Library and influenced the expansion of the library in the late 1990's. She was very passionate about plants to include the incubation and growth of the African violet, but most of all quilting. She attended many Vermont quilt Festival workshops with friends, day trips to the New England Quilt Museum, as well as attending the Northern Lights Quilt Guild meetings and a monthly Sew Together group. Additionally, she co-founded a small group of art quilters with Jann Block named the Mavericks.

Later in life Fran and Bill loved to travel the world to include Vietnam, Thailand, Greece, Austria, Amsterdam, and France. They took multiple trips to Hawaii and a yearly trip to Booth Bay Maine to enjoy her favorite food, lobster.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, February 5th, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Rand Wilson Funeral Home. 11 1/2 School Street, Hanover, NH. On Wednesday, February 6th a memorial service will be held at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church at 11 am, 8 Sanborn Road, Hanover, NH. A reception will follow at the church.
