During the Korean War he saw action during the Spring, Summer and Winter Offensives in 1951 and the Spring Offensive of 1952. During that time he was stationed at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Additionally, after both WWII and Korea he escorted war dead back to their home towns. He retired from Dartmouth in 1989, and spent many happy days golfing at Lake Morey Country Club and the Country Club of NH with friends and family. He also enjoyed baseball, especially Ted Williams and the Boston Red Sox. He waited patiently for 78 years to finally see them win the World Series in 2004. He was a great story teller and enjoyed sharing laughs and telling tales from his youth growing up in New Haven and his time in the Marines. He loved spending time with family, grand-children and great grand-children.
