Obituary

Janet Mae Buskey80, of Lake Waynoka, OH, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Hospice of Cincinnati-East Inpatient Care Center in Cincinnati.

She was born July 12, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Alvin H. and Marguerite Moser Anderson. She was raised in Whitefish Bay, WI, and spent summers in Hiawatha, Kansas, on the Anderson family farm with grandparents, uncles and aunts. A graduate of Whitefish Bay High School, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Milwaukee-Downer College, and a Master of Arts degree in Human Development from The University of Chicago.

Mrs. Buskey was a Registered Occupational Therapist and worked in hospitals, nursing homes and universities in Chicago, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio and West Virginia in a career spanning over 40 years. She was an author, researcher, and teacher. She was a member of Job's Daughters Bethel No. 17, Whitefish Bay, WI, and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.

An avid gardener and nature lover, anything tiny or lost had to be rescued, and she delighted in teaching her granddaughter about birds. She made many quilts and had a collection of old family quilts.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John, a native of Hanover; three children, daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Buskey and Paul Wright of Cincinnati; son and daughter-in-law Lawrence and Amy Buskey of Cincinnati; son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Jennifer Buskey of North Bethesda, MD. Also surviving is granddaughter Katarina Mae Wright; a sister Dr. Doris Brooker; a cousin, Carol Dencker; several brother- and sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews, and other cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville, OH. Mr. Bonnie Keith officiated. Following cremation, a portion of Mrs. Buskey's ashes will be scattered over Lake Michigan and a portion will be buried in the family plot in Dartmouth Cemetery, Hanover, New Hampshire. A graveside service for family will be held Friday, May 16th, 4:00 pm. Rand-Wilson Funeral Home, of Hanover, NH, is serving the family.
