Joanne Coburndied peacefully at home in Lyme in the company of close family and her oldest friend on Sunday, April 10th after a long struggle with bone marrow cancer. She was born August 1, 1944.

Joanne recently retired from the position of business manager at the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine and is the elected Tax Collector of the town of Lyme, an office she has held for 30 years.

Choral singing was central to her life. She sang alto in the Handel Society and Ensemble Zephyrus and was long a performer with Revels North.

She is survived by her husband Peter Coburn, her daughter Rebecca Maxfield and son-in-law Todd Maxfield, her step-daughters Teresa Coburn and Sarah Coburn and son-in-law Christopher Lee, and her grandchildren Marcella, Jackson, Vivian, and Celia.

Joanne requested that donations in her memory be sent to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
