Obituary

John (Jack) Joseph Fagan age 89, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at his residence in Hanover, New Hampshire. Jack was born in Dover, New Jersey in 1924.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 with Company C 209th Infantry. He saw combat in Europe and received an EAME Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and a Good Conduct Medal.

In 1949 he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He married Pauline Alence in 1952 and raised four children with her during their marriage of 37 years. He married May Blatz in 1990 and enjoyed the past 22 years with her.

Jack is known for his bird photography, woodworking skills and love for golf. He also traveled extensively with May including trips to Egypt and the Galapagos Islands.

Jack is survived by his wife, May, his sister Agnes; his children Dorothy, Kathy, James and Carol; May's children Betsy, Susanne, Priscilla, and Rob; and his seven grandchildren Patrick, Eric, Bryce, Daniel, Dwight, Peter and Julia; and four great-grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline, on November 6, 1989.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Aquinas House Catholic Student Center on the Dartmouth College Campus in Hanover, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to the Aquinas House.
