Obituary

Marilyn (Lindall) Moore86, was called Home on Monday, September 21, 2015. She passed peacefully after a long hard-fought battle with Alzheimer's Disease, at Hanover Terrace Healthcare in Hanover, NH where she had resided for the past 5½ years. She was born on March 25, 1929, to Victor S. and Hilma J. (Herneaho) Lindall in Fitzwilliam, NH.

Marilyn graduated from Keene High School, Keene, NH Class of 1947, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She returned to college as an older student and graduated in 1967, with Highest Honors from Keene State College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught 3rd grade at Fuller School and at Symonds School in Keene, NH until 1980, when she took an early retirement. She resided in Sarasota, FL until 1987, when she returned to NH and moved to West Lebanon to live with her daughter and family.

Marilyn married Howard C. Moore on July 2, 1949, in Malden, MA. They were very happily married for 25 years until Howard's death in 1974.

Marilyn loved music, especially classical and opera and was a member of church and local choirs over the years and served as a soloist in her earlier years. She was also an avid reader. She was a life-long teacher and learner. She taught Sunday School in her early years and completed an Education for Ministry course in retirement. She was also a dedicated volunteer in the Mammography Dept. at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for over 20 years. She was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society both in NH and FL. She was a 15-year member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, NH Retired Teacher's Association and the MHMH Auxiliary. She served on the Chaplaincy Board of the Auxiliary for several years.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Donna and son-in-law Jeffrey S. Smith of West Lebanon, her grandson Gregory S. Smith of Greenfield, NH and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Howard, and her two sisters, Irene Austin and Elizabeth Walkama.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 in St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Hanover, NH. Burial will follow at 2:30 in the Mountainview Cemetery, Troy, NH. There will be no calling hours.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hanover Terrace Healthcare for the compassionate care shown to Marilyn over the last 5½ years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Crotched Mountain Foundation, 1 Verney Dr., Greenfield, NH 03047.
