Marjorie Edna Cleveland Swaindied on March 29, 2017 in Woodstock, VT. She was born April 14, 1916 in Reading, VT, the daughter of Edith Perkins Cleveland and Clarence Erle Cleveland. She attended Woodstock High School for two years and graduated from Springfield High School in 1934. Marjorie married Loring R. Swain of Andover, ME at her parents' home in Reading on January 23, 1949.

Marjorie enjoyed her lifetime membership in the Historical Societies of Pomfret and Reading as well as those of Carthage, of Dixfield and Weld in Maine. She was also a member of the Hartland Nature Club and a lifetime member of the Springfield High School Alumni Association.

Survivors include three granddaughters, two great grandsons, two nieces, a nephew and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Loring R. Swain, her brother, Leon M. Cleveland and her son, Scott P. Swain.

At Marjorie's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. If desired, donations may be made to the Children's Literacy Foundation, 1536 Loomis Hill Road, Waterbury Center, VT 05677 or to a charity of your choice.
