Mark Yale Slomiakof Hanover, NH died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Mark was born on November 1, 1957 at Hollywood Hospital in Los Angeles, CA the son of Harriet and Louis Slomiak.
After graduation from Grant High School, Mark received his BA in developmental psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mark worked as project leader at the Pacific Stock Exchange, was manager of the Central Records Office at Sun Life Financial and was administrator at Harvard University's Core Curriculum Office. While at Harvard, he was a member on the Board of Freshman Advisors. At Dartmouth's Tuck School, Mark worked as information resource manager.
Throughout his working career, Mark was involved in several volunteer projects; a Big Brother, coach of both girls softball and boys basketball, was an officer in the Bishop Elementary School PTA in Arlington, MA, and was treasurer for the Valley Symphony in Los Angeles.
Mark was an avid sports fan and a regular on golf courses. He was an avid reader and loved spending time in Hanover's Howe Library.
Mark leaves his wife, Inge-Lise Ameer, his daughter Mollie Agnes, his son Max Eprim, and his siblings, Jeff and Jay Slomiak and Ellen Glettner.
Donations in Mark's name may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Rollins Chapel at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, NH.
