Mary Catherine (Horne) Checani p assed away peacefully with her daughters Cheryl Frisch of Hanover, NH and Robin Gales of

So. Burlington, VT on February 3, 2025. She was 91.

Born in Boston, MA, she then married her high school sweetheart Theodore (Ted) Checani on April 17, 1953. Ted and Mary spent the next 29 years perusing his career and spending the last 17 years in New Orleans.

With retirement, they moved to Ipswich, MA. to be closer to family and still be close to the beach. After Ted's passing, Mary moved to Hanover, NH.

Always a beautiful kind woman with unmatched love for her family. Mary enjoyed taking classes at Osher, tending to her African Violets surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children Cheryl Frisch (Bob), Robin Gales (John) and Craig Checani (Sue). Her grandchildren Ryan Frisch (Calyn) Erin Newton (Peter), Teddy and Lucas Gales, Micheal and Jake Checani, Samantha Blaisdell (Brian) and her great grandchildren Bobby and Josephine Elizabeth Frisch, Lovell Newton and Brayden and Blake Blaisdell and her brother Edward Horne,

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care she received from the staff at The Jack Byrnes Center for Palliative and Hospice Care.

Services are being planned for a later date.
