Obituary

Nina Seamanof Meriden, New Hampshire passed away on May 7, 2012, at age 65, after nearly four years of battling metastatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bob Maurer, her only sister, Nan Strano.

Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Nina went on to make a career in the financial world as corporate VP in charge of large scale systems development and implementation at Citibank/Citicorp in Manhattan. She spent the last eight years of that career planning for her move to New Hampshire, where she wanted to live a more meaningful life, and was much more naturally drawn to work with non-profit. She was a gourmet cook, an avid gardener, an artist and a natural born communicator.

Nina was a dedicated practitioner of Buddhism, and spent the last 20 years of her life as a member of the Shambala Center in White River Junction, where she also served as Director for a few years. She was a teacher, a mentor, a student and a friend to so many. She cared deeply for people, and respected every individual without expectation or judgment. Those who knew her, understand there is nothing more to say here. Her family is very gratified by the great care taken by the members of the Shambala Center to prepare the lovely, simple vigil and services to send her on her way...

Nina said her most gratifying career position was her last, as the Office Manager for the non-profit Cover Home Repair. Donations to Cover Home Repair in her name are welcomed. (www.coverhomerepair.org/support; 158 South Main Street, White River Junction 05001)

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, NH.
