Obituary

Raymond William LaBombard, Sr.passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 19, 1925 on Greensboro Road in Hanover, NH, to William and Dora (Colcord) LaBombard. Ray attended Lebanon High School and served in the United States Army. He married Sally A. Hawes in the chapel at Fort Drum, NY on February 29, 1952.

Sally and Raymond returned to Hanover after his discharge from the US Army in 1952 and lived on Greensboro Road, very near to where he was born. Raymond worked for Sally's family business, Hanover Transfer and Storage, and in 1972 he and Sally took over the business and ran it with great success until their retirement in 1986.

Raymond enjoyed working in the vegetable garden in the summer, camping with friends, playing cards, bowling, and walking the beaches in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida during the winter months. He was a proud member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a founding member of the Lebanon Lodge, and paid his dues up until the very end of his life. More than anything, Raymond enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reminiscing about good times spent together.

Raymond was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Sally Hawes LaBombard, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his daughter Jone LaBombard and her husband William Noyce of Hollis, NH; son Harold and his wife Karen of Orford, NH; and son Raymond, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Hanover. Five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four great step-grandchildren also survive him, as well as cousins and many nieces and nephews.

At his request there were no calling hours and a private family burial will be held at a later date. For those wishing to make memorial donations, the family suggests the Upper Valley Humane Society.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, NH.
