Obituary

Sally Hawes LaBombardpassed away on Sunday, November 06, 2011. She was born October 12, 1930 in Hanover, NH to Richard L. and Marion Whipple Hawes. Sally graduated from Hanover High School in 1948. She attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham and graduated from Hesser College in 1950.

Sally worked for Verney Corp. in Manchester, NH until she married Raymond W. LaBombard in the chapel at Fort Drum, NY on February 29, 1952. They returned to Hanover after his discharge from the US Army in 1952. She worked for the Norwich Inn, the Verham News, the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College, and the Earth Sciences Dept. at Dartmouth College. In 1972 she and her husband took over her family business, Hanover Transfer & Storage, until their retirement in 1986.

Sally was an avid gardener, quilter, bowler and line dancer. She loved camping at Small Point, Maine and spending winters in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. She was a charter member of the Lebanon Emblem Club.

Sally is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raymond LaBombard, Sr.; daughter Jone and her husband William Noyce of Hollis, NH; son Harold and his wife Karen of Orford, NH; and son Raymond, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Hanover. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Abigail Noyce and her husband Daniel Noe of Littleton, MA; Genevieve Noyce and her fiancee Rachel Kahan of London, UK; Miranda and Theodore Noyce of Hollis, NH; Isabelle LaBombard of Hanover; two step-grandchildren, Bethany Foster of Ludlow, MA and Kelly Myshinsky of Chelsea, VT, and two great step-grandchildren: Taylor and Sierra Foster. Sally also considered Jessica Batty of Los Gatos, CA and Gwen Cook of Dover, NH to be honorary grandchildren. Also surviving are cousins and many nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no calling hours and a private burial will be held at a later date. For those wishing to make memorial donations, the family suggests the American Cancer Society or the Grafton County Senior Center.
