Obituary

Thomas S. Whiteof Hanover, NH died at home on Wednesday, December 23rd, from a recently diagnosed and aggressive stage four esophageal cancer.

Born in Hanover in March 1949 to E. Stanley and Ethel [Pasternak] White, Tom grew up in Lebanon and attended Sacred Heart School, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1967. He attended Norwich University and Black Hills State University before returning to the Upper Valley to begin his career at Timken Aerospace. He retired in 2013.

He leaves his wife Sandra [Connor] of Hanover and son Schaefer of Portland, Maine, siblings Michael of Florida, Pamela of Pennsylvania, and Jerry of Rhode Island, brother-in-law William Connor of Florida, two nephews, many cousins, and a cherry 1967 GTO.

Tom will be remembered as a generous and talented cook who loved his standing mixer and used it to make special people in his life happy with his gastronomic delights.

Thanks to the kind-hearted nurses, LNAs, fellows and doctors at DHMC for their care and efforts, and to Bayada Hospice for coordinating and providing excellent and compassionate services at home. Special thanks to primary physician Dr. Ernst Oidtmann and transplant physician Dr. Michael Chobanian for their treatment, advice and encouragement in improving Tom's quality of life and health after an unrelated kidney transplant 22 years ago.

A funeral service will be held in the spring and an announcement will be published at that time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Wilson Funeral Home of Hanover, NH.
